MEET THE BOARD

Meet the Board

Weaver Lake PTO Executive Board is comprised of volunteers who have taken on leadership roles to support the staff and students at our school.

We have tremendous pride in Weaver Lake Elementary and are grateful for the volunteers who help make everything run smoother at our school. We enjoy working side-by-side with you and look forward to an eventful year!

We also want to express our gratitude to the volunteers who chair our PTO events & fundraisers.  They are the ones who bring the PTO activities to life, and we are lucky to have them!

I am married to Cody Billings, and together we have four children: Evalyn, who is in 10th grade at MGHS; Ethan, an 8th grader at OMS; Elizabeth, a 5th grader at Weaver Lake; and Elliana, who is in 2nd grade at Weaver Lake. Our family shares our home with a variety of pets, including a dog, three cats, and three bunnies.

Since 2015, I’ve enjoyed supporting Weaver Lake PTO and our school district in various capacities. I work as a substitute teacher and as a relief Veterinary Technician. I also lead two Girl Scout troops at Weaver Lake  and I mentor high school girls by helping them run camps and teach archery. My family is heavily involved in sports, and either my husband or I often hold board positions or manage teams for various groups. Our children are also enthusiastic volunteers, particularly at Maple Grove Days and Weaver Lake events.

Why PTO?

As parents, it is not always clear what happens behind the scenes at school. However, understanding the “why” behind decisions makes it easier to support and appreciate them. I am continually inspired by our dedicated volunteers and their extraordinary commitment of time and energy.

Vice President - Courtney Fuller

I have three kids (Oliver and Levi 3K Arborview, and Emmett 1st Weaver) with my husband, Ben. We have two dogs and a cat. I am a stay-at-home mom who enjoys evening active in this PTO as well as the Early Childhood PTO. I love traveling and keeping active. A highlight from the summer was completing my first marathon and traveling to France for the Olympics!

Why PTO?

Why not? I enjoy learning about how the school is funded and what is happening in the district as well. I also really appreciated the information we got regarding what is being taught at each grade level. Being a relatively new parent in school having that insight was really great.

Fundraising Coordinator - Mona Parmar

My name is Mona Parmar and I co-parent a 5th and a 3rd grader at Weaver Lake.  I'm the Fundraising Coordinator for PTO and also coordinate the Color Run and Carnival.  I really believe our PTO has the best events and fundraisers because of the community we are serving and the outreach, help and support we receive to make them fun and successful!  I am Data Project Lead at Target Corporation and feel lucky that I can use skills I've learned in my professional career to help our school.  I live in Brooklyn Park where it is easy to celebrate Indian culture and heritage with my kids!  If you are a single parent, a minority, a working parent with limited time, but want to get involved please feel free to reach out to me anytime to chat!

Treasurer - Susan Carter

Susan is a dedicated wife and mom of 2 boys at Weaver Lake.  She is currently at the State fair running her very busy business preparing healthy tasty pet treats!

She’s been our PTO treasurer for several years now and does a fantastic job!  She came a board with a crazy mess and helped us get on track, making our budget, helping to set goals, reminding us of upcoming expenses.

Community Outreach - Randy Barreto

Randy and his husband Rick have two daughters, Libby who just finished her time at Weaver and Azaria who is in third grade this year.  Randy has been active coordinating Twins and Wild game outings for Weaver Family’s and also coordinating teacher meals for conferences and teacher appreciation week.  This year he steps into a new role Community Outreach.

Media Communications  - Jamie Piemeisl

My husband Jason and I have two girls. Alice is in 1st grade at Weaver Lake and Holly is in PreK at Rice Lake Elementary. We also have a rescue dog, Penny. When Alice started kindergarten, I wanted to be more involved with the Weaver Lake Elementary community, events and information. I’ve met so many wonderful people and I look forward to building more friendships. The PTO is a great group of parents and I hope to get more parents involved. My role as Media Communications is making our PTO Newsletter and posting to all our school Facebook pages!

My favorite hobbies are doing anything creative and reading fiction books; I love those thrillers! I love animals, chickadees and the color purple.

Weaver Wear (Spirit Wear) - Beth Bergfield

I have 2 sons at Weaver (Henry and Jack) and I work at the school in the Special Ed department. My husband Matt, boys, and I live in Maple Grove and love being part of the Weaver Lake community! I joined the PTO in the spring of 2023 when the Weaver Wear chair position was opening up. I decided to volunteer as chair of Weaver Wear and the adjacent Weaver Wear Recycle Project to do my best to make our spirit wear inclusive for all of our Weaver Lake students and staff. My goal from the start was to try to get a piece of Weaver Wear into the hands of every student at Weaver! We have added Weaver Wear discount sales to our Open House and provide every student and staff member with a Weaver Lake t-shirt for the annual Color Run fundraiser. It is so heartwarming to see everyone walking the halls proudly showing off their Weaver Wear!
